WHO WERE THE “SPIRITUALISTS”?
Starting with the rapping sounds generated by the Fox Sisters in the mid 1800s, the Spiritualist Movement was an era of fraud and misguided beliefs that also brought forth the modern practice of scientific study of psychic phenomena.
THE SÉANCES
During this evening of psychic exploration, we will first conduct a Séance just like the ones mediums of the spiritualist movement may have done. Afterward, the secrets of how it was done shall be revealed!
Then at Midnight, an actual séance will be conducted in order to try and contact the spirits of the Booth House! Will we succeed? The séance at midnight will be hosted by Savannah Brooks.
Senior Investigator for the Baltimore Society for Paranormal Research, Savannah Brooks has been interested in the paranormal for as long she can remember. While living in her hometown of Perry Hall Maryland, she experienced paranormal phenomena in the haunted house she was living in during her early twenties. In 2008 she was drawn to BSPR due to their lack of sensationalism. BSPR’s knowledgeable approach impressed Savannah so much that she signed-up as quickly as she could and by the end of the year had graduated to Senior Investigator. When not investigating the paranormal, Savannah works in a law office and as a Wiccan High Priestess specializing in spiritual cleansings.
