Secret room found!

Secret room found!

On the afternoon of November 1st, 2010 I was trying to tear out the floor in the tool shed adjoining the side of The Haunted Cottage. It has always been a dream of  fellow investigator Chuck Saunders and I to convert this room into a research lab. Today I discovered a concrete vault under the shed! It is eight feet deep and has three feet of water at the bottom. Is this an old cistern? A bomb shelter? Bootleggers bunker? On Tuesday November 2nd, I will find out when I pump the water and descend in to the vault!

Has anyone done research as to the ownership of the Haunted Cottage? I would be interested in knowing when it was built, by whom and who has owned it since.

  2. Yes. We are constantly looking into this info. We know it was once owned by a dairy farmer named Cavalier. This info has just come up. It was constructed in the early 1800s. An addition in the 1950s turned it into a dance hall called the Blue Moon. Then it was an antique store and then finally it became a private residence again.

When I was there on April 14, 2007, it was owned by Oscar Lee and Betty Y. Ballenger. At some time back in the 1990s it was owned by the Newcommers.

I would like to re-visit it and see inside the house. Is this possible?

    Chuck
