Yes, we know that a quick search of the Internet will show that there are other “paranormal museums” out there. The difference is, this one is the fist to be dedicated exclusively to the HISTORY of psychic phenomena, ghosts and hauntings. This is also the first of that type to have a real physical location.

Those interested in paranormal history want answers on what ghosts and spirits are seeking; Are they trying to find a person from the past? Or seeking resolution? The museum satisfies a deep curiosity we all have to know and to find a connection with missing people.

Visitors to the Paranormal History Museum area will be able to to see a chronological progress of the field of paranormal research from the Oracle of Delphi to the modern day “ghost hunting fad”. Interactive exhibits will be on hand for enthusiasts and curiosity seekers alike. Remember, before there were the shows on television there were researchers like Loyd Auerbach, Troy Taylor, Dale Kaczmarek, J. B. Rhine, Dr. Barry Taff, Dr. Andrew Nichols, Peter Underwood and many others! Before we had EMF meters, paranormal investigators used talcum powder to look for invisible footprints and bowls of mercury to watch for minute vibrations.

A new interactive area on the second floor, The Haunted Cottage’s Exhibition of the Supernatural brings you myths, legends and oddities from all over to fascinate and educate.

In the Psychic History and Séance Room you can learn about famous poltergeist case subject Tina Recsh; the story how the Titanic disaster may have been predicted 14 years before the event; decide for yourself the facts behind the Mayan Calendar and the Crystal Skull of Doom! Of course you might also be able to participate in an actual séance!

SECRETS & CONSPIRACY THEORIES

Benjamin Franklin once said the only way to keep a secret was between three people – if two of them were dead! In the hall leading into the exhibit rooms you can learn about the Roswell, NM event in 1947. Do you think an alien space craft could have landed there? Are there alien bodies at Are 51?

MYTHS, LEGENDS & FOLKLORE

Every paranormal researcher needs to understand why people believe the things they do. How do legends begin? Where do myths come from? How does folklore contribute to belief and culture? These are questions we will explore with some of our new exhibits!

Guests will be able to examine within close proximity displays on:

• the legendary Sasquatch! See up close a foot cast taken from the 1967 Bluff Creek Bigfoot sighting area!
• a Vampire Skeleton! What myth has changed more than the vampire? Originally corpses or spirits, now they sparkle and want to be friends!
• P.T. Barnum’s legendary Figi Mermaid! Hoax or bizarre cryptid?
• a Peruvian elongated skull. Why did Meso-Americans wrap their children’s heads to stretch their skulls???
